INT. RESONATOR ART – DAY

Jordan enters Resonator Art. Off in a corner, we sort of see a woman in a red dress, RAVEN, holding a tablet.

Jordan takes a moment to look around the art when Curtis from Resonator comes to talk to her.

CURTIS
[Say something about the art]

The door rings. Curtis turns to see who entered.

CURTIS
Hey, Avery.

Jordan turns to Avery.

JORDAN
Avery!

AVERY
I didn’t expect to find you here.

JORDAN
Yeah, I’m sorry about earlier. I actually ran into a few people and I think I get it now. The arts can be different things for different people and I shouldn’t be so dismissive if one aspect isn’t for me.

(The above speech will contain elements from Erinn’s talk.)

Avery pauses for a moment to debate Jordan’s sincerity.

AVERY
I’d like to show you something. You too, Curtis, while I’m here. I got this paintbrush from this odd couple. They told me if I wiped this brush over any piece of art, I could make a real life copy of it.

CURTIS
I would be weary of that paintbrush.

We see Raven on her tablet as Avery speaks. (Editor Note: Perhaps do this as a split screen.)

AVERY
Please, what’s the worst that can happen?

RAVEN
(using tablet)
Commencing chaos.

We focus back on Jordan and Avery. The paintbrush starts to wiggle around.

JORDAN
What’s it doing?

AVERY
I don’t know.

A monster comes to life.

CURTIS
You were saying?

The monster roars as we see the terrified faces of the trio. Curtis and Jordan step behind Avery. The monster swipes at them, but Avery keeps it back with the paintbrush.

JORDAN
What if you destroy the paintbrush?

AVERY
What? You can’t be serious.

CURTIS
Sounds logical to me. Destroy the cursed object, destroy the curse. Common movie trope.

AVERY
I’ll give it a shot.

Avery snaps the paintbrush in half and the monster screams in a painful death.

JORDAN
It worked! I can’t believe it worked.

AVERY
I guess art can be dangerous too.

CURTIS
Oh art can be extremely dangerous, especially when used to influence public opinions.

JORDAN
On the subject of opinions, I just want to apologize again for earlier.

AVERY
Don’t sweat it. It comes with the territory. I’m just glad you see the beauty in art now.

Curtis clears his throat.

CURTIS
You know, I’ve heard the Norman Music Festival is doing a mini-concert session tonight.

AVERY
Oh, yeah! You want to go check that out?

JORDAN
As long as there are no monsters.

Avery chuckles and leads the way.

AVERY
I’ll see you later, Curtis and sorry about the mess.

Curtis waves the couple off.

CURTIS
No one was hurt.

Avery and Jordan leave the art gallery. Across the street, a woman in a red dress, Raven, and a man in a white suit, Loki, watch the couple walk toward The Depot.

RAVEN
Again, Avery destroyed the brush before it could cause too much chaos.

LOKI
I kind of like the endings we got where Avery turned Jordan into art.

RAVEN
But Jordan didn’t have a redemption arc.

RAVEN
True. Shall we try again, Loki?
