EXT. ART ALLEY BEHIND MAINSITE – DAY
Jordan walks down the alleyway. Behind MAINSITE, in front of a mural and selfie wall, Jordan sees an Alice in Wonderland-like scene with CODY JONES sipping on some tea as some bird puppets sing.
JORDAN
What in the world…
Cody notices Jordan and greets him.
CODY
Hey, there. Are you enjoying the art alley too?
JORDAN
Anyway, I was actually looking for my date.
CODY
Your date can wait. This tea is just the perfect temperature.
Jordan takes a seat.
JORDAN
I guess I can spare a moment for some tea.
Cody pours Jordan some tea.
BIRD
Tea time! Tea time!
JORDAN
This is some crazy Rogers Rabbit stuff. How did these birds come to life? Did you do this?
CODY
No idea. I was taking some photos when I just stumbled upon this. Tell me about you, are you and your date going to see the art exhibit at MAINSITE?
JORDAN
We saw it already, actually.
CODY
What did you think? Which one was your favorite? It was mine, right?
JORDAN
Eh. I thought it was kind of dumb.
Cody takes a sip of tea to think about what’s to say next.
CODY
Art means different things to different people. What you may find dumb, others find beauty and love, even in this crazy, often dark, and ugly world. [Cody may also change or expand this line with his personal feelings.]
JORDAN
I think I see what you’re saying. There was an electric mix of art.
CODY
If you didn’t know, that show is a benefit to the Norman Arts Council, which helps fund all of the city’s arts orgnizations, including the Norman Music Festival coming up.
BIRD
La la la.
JORDAN
I didn’t know that. I’m new to town.
CODY
Care for another cup of tea?
