I Ate Oklahoma Promo Spot

I’m thrilled to share this video ad I made for I Ate Oklahoma. This promo spot turned out amazing. We spent a morning recording the video and I used some photos he sent me along with my b-roll archives from Uncovering Oklahoma to tell his story.

“Video wiz @UncoveringOklahoma created this amazing commercial for iateoklahoma.com and I couldn’t be more thrilled. If you’re looking for someone who can make a commercial, video press release, short movie, pretty much anything involving a camera, HIRE DENNIS SPIELMAN. He’s also literally one of the best people you’ll ever meet.”

Press & Plow

Growing from a passion for tea, coffee, meats, and other unique groceries, Press & Plow in Norman brings all those together. Anthony Compagni shares his story about what visitors can expect to find at Press & Plow.

I shot this interview yesterday evening and went back this morning to get more b-roll of various things. It’s a great coffee shop worth checking out. Another thing I like about them is they are away from the college, so it’s a little secluded.

Gun Izakaya Press Kit Unboxing

I got a rather unique press kit to promote the upcoming Japanese style pub, Gun Izakaya, and I unbox it for you in this video. From the team behind Goro Ramen and Empire Slice House, Gun Izakaya is Oklahoma City’s newest spin on a Japanese Izakaya.

I thought it was odd when their press coordinator from Konjo Concepts messaged about delivering a press kit in person. I was surprised to receive this awesome box.

I’ll be doing a story on Gun Izakaya for Uncovering Oklahoma later on, but enjoy this unboxing video for now.

Season 2 of Tales Unveiled Now In Production

Season Two of Tales Unveiled is now in production! Jeff and I traveled to Medicine Park to record the first episode. There’s still work to be done on this episode. There’s narration to be recorded and we have an interview with a Medicine Park hiker (who happens to live locally) to still do. We may release a prologue (or epilogue to season one) that will introduce a new character to the series.

Available to my Patreon supporters, there’s a behind-the-scenes vlog of us road tripping to Medicine Park. We recorded three interviews, with the one at Blue Eyed Coyote Guest House being the featured story. The other two interviews didn’t wish to be on camera, but we do have one uncut interview for you in the video

Since we’re traveling across the state of Oklahoma this season, our premiere will start later in the fall. We’re also planning more episodes and may even release them weekly. It’s still early. We very much go with the flow for this show.

I wanted to give you all an update on the show. Be sure to listen to the first season to catch up!

Black-Owned BBQ Restaurants

I collaborated with Apollo Woods of OKC Black Eats on an episode about Black-Owned BBQ Restaurants for Juneteenth. We visited the traditional BBQ joint, George’s Happy Hog Bar-B-Q, in Oklahoma City then a more modern take with Big O’s Pork & Dreams in Edmond.

Apollo originally had three places planned for the video, however, one of the third choices the owner wasn’t feeling well that day and then another back-up had been vandalized. Still, with just the two places we did visit, the episode works well with the contrast of styles between the restaurants.

Shout out to Apollo for doing a great job! Be sure to check out his upcoming event, the 2nd Annual Black Foodie Summit.
