The Crashing of Heaven and Hell Cover Session

Today I had a photo session with Carolina Gonzalez to model as Cassie/Virus for the cover of my book, The Crashing of Heaven and Hell. It was a great shoot. I’m still trying to make up my mind on the cover, but here are three great pictures.

Right now, I’m waiting for some feedback on the book from some of my friends to make sure everything makes sense and that there are no plot holes. Once I hear back, I’ll do one more revision and have it edited. YAY!

Also, possible book description:
It was so beautiful, yet so terrible, to see the crashed islands of Heaven and Hell naked on the planet’s surface. To blurt out how and why would be a great insult to everyone involved. To be truly enlightened, or entertained if you’re an Atheist, you must know the series of events that happened on the day Heaven and Hell came crashing down. Follow the normal lives of several people on the Green Planet as they deal with vengeful actors, kidnapping robots, making a documentary, a disappearing moon, scavengers in space, a zombie rights protest, and the Gods’ schemes to cause the planet’s heaven and hell to crash on the surface. Take an amazing journey on Hell’s wicked roller coaster, fly with angels in heaven, shop in a futuristic mall in the shape of a crystalline horse, run from a giant three headed dog on a hover board, meet some fascinating people, and get involved in the Gods’ drama in Dennis Spielman’s book, The Crashing of Heaven and Hell.

Next Book: The Date Idea Book – Sneak Peek

The next book I’m working on releasing in January will be Uncovering Oklahoma’s Date Idea Book. If the name seems a bit different, it’s because it is different. I’ve found out that when I talked about the date guide book people thought I had wrote a “dating guide” book with dating tips. So, yes, I’m changing the title based on very “expensive” marketing research.

The awesome thing about the date idea book is the totally different layout and I’m excited that it will be printed. I already have one business interested in selling copies. As for the book’s progress, I only have the Oklahoma City section converted to the new format, so I still have some work ahead of me.

I wanted to take a moment to share a status update. Keep on the look out for it in January!

Final Check-In: Update #4

Yesterday, Lessa and I edited the librarian-action-spy-style mock movie trailer, Final Check-In. Editing went extremely well. There’s one particular moment I want to share: About half way through, Lessa wanted to watch the whole video to get a feel for it. Before doing that, I quickly tossed in some background music for ambience. The song synced up beautifully. We ended up editing the rest of the video to the song, syncing up scenes with its beats and changes. There are lots of cool moments in the movie and overall it’s very smooth. We didn’t use all of the footage, but that happens. Better to have too much than not enough.

We’re going to do one last touch-up edit next week immediately followed by the watch party with the YouTube video, including blooper reel, being posted on Monday.
