Season Two of Tales Unveiled is now in production! Jeff and I traveled to Medicine Park to record the first episode. There’s still work to be done on this episode. There’s narration to be recorded and we have an interview with a Medicine Park hiker (who happens to live locally) to still do. We may release a prologue (or epilogue to season one) that will introduce a new character to the series.
Available to my Patreon supporters, there’s a behind-the-scenes vlog of us road tripping to Medicine Park. We recorded three interviews, with the one at Blue Eyed Coyote Guest House being the featured story. The other two interviews didn’t wish to be on camera, but we do have one uncut interview for you in the video.
Since we’re traveling across the state of Oklahoma this season, our premiere will start later in the fall. We’re also planning more episodes and may even release them weekly. It’s still early. We very much go with the flow for this show.
I wanted to give you all an update on the show. Be sure to listen to the first season to catch up!
Apollo originally had three places planned for the video, however, one of the third choices the owner wasn’t feeling well that day and then another back-up had been vandalized. Still, with just the two places we did visit, the episode works well with the contrast of styles between the restaurants.
In collaboration with the Norman Arts Council, The Depot, and OkSessions, Art & Victory is a free monthly panel discussion series I produce that’s designed for creative entrepreneurs. The theme for the June panel was Writing Stories, which included topics such as writing characters different than yourself, overcoming writer’s block, world-building, and more.

A graduate of Emerson College’s Writing, Literature, and Publishing Program with a Master’s in Creative Writing, Chad is the author of five chapbooks of poetry. He is the co-founder of Short Order Poems, a performance art group that brings poetry to people in surprising ways, but mostly via old typewriters. Prior to Penny Candy Books, Chad worked as a commercial insurance broker with a focus on renewable energy projects and as an English teacher. He lives in Oklahoma City with his wife, two sons, and a dog.
Norman H. Hammon is a Norman-based writer and a consultant to nonprofits. He spends his days writing grant proposals for Jazz in June, the Norman PHIL and NAMRON Players Theatre and his remaining time writing columns for the Norman Transcript, and others, as well as a sequel to his science fiction work, OUTWORLD by N. Harold Donley (his pseudonym). He is also the author of Fund Raising … for the rest of us and speaks throughout the state on all matters nonprofit. A graduate of the University of Oklahoma a couple of times over (BSW & MSW) he lives in the Core of Norman with his wife Sheryl and cat Gracie. He currently teaches Grant Writing for the Arts at the University of Oklahoma Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts and serves as a grant reviewer for the Oklahoma Arts Council and National Endowment for the Arts.

I visited four different burger joints with guest host Justin Coleman. In this Uncovering Oklahoma episode, we visit the food truck, Burger Punk, then Patty Wagon in Oklahoma City, MOB Grill in Bethany, and end at The Fixx in Edmond.
Justin and I filmed this episode on Monday. We made several pivots on this video from the original plan. A few days before filming, one of the locations we had planned to visit told me that they were going to be out of town that day, but I was able to replace them with MOB Grill. Justin was going to be joined by Undrell Maholmes as co-host, however, Undrell got surprised with a camping trip and ended up not making it back in time on Monday to film. There were some other minor pivots we made along the way, but we got it done!
If this video does well, I do have plans for a volume two. I had received a dozen suggestions of burger places to feature when I asked people on social media for creative burgers in the area. We’ll get Undrell to join us next time. Maybe for volume three, we’ll visit Tulsa?
This was a rather large episode, but I was able to trim out some of the time Justin spent eating the food to keep it on pace. I’m planning to do more collaborative themed videos and I’ve already reached out to some people to get the ball rolling.
