The Wild, Succulents, Crazy, Juicy, Delicious, Delectable Improv Challenge #11

Ben Davis, Kyle Gossett, Michael Roberts, Stephen Dillard-Carroll, and Jessi Kyle return for the dangerous challenge where Michael must convince the others, who can only say or do one thing from a suggestion from the hat, to cross the street. Dun-dun-dun!

Dennis’ Commentary: This video features some dramatic videography. The Cast of Big O plus Michael Roberts were great to work with again. I wanted to feature Michael Roberts in one last challenge before he moved out of state and I got this great video.

The Fantabiolous, Screwy, Improv Whodad Challenge #10

The fabulous MiDolls battle each other in a game of questions. The girls – Sue Ellen Reiman, Cristela Carrizales, Ann-Lisette Caveny, Raychel Winstead, Brenda Williams, and Jodi Nestander – pick out some characters from a hat as a starting point. Each of them have two lives tournament style until one of them emerges victoriously to become the champion.

Dennis’ Commentary: Testing the waters for competition based challenges. Success? Yes. The MiDolls were great and a ton of fun. This was filmed during their rehearsal. There was lots of goofing around before and after the video. I ended up just hanging out with them that night.

Elemental Coffee

Today for Uncovering Oklahoma, I visited Elemental Coffee in Oklahoma City. Elemental has a simple philosophy on their coffees: “deliver each coffee as it wants to be delivered.” At Elemental they source, sample, import, roast, and deliver the finest coffees available. They’re a small Oklahoma City company dedicated to producing the finest coffee while providing their customers with the best imaginable service.

In my latest video interview, I spoke with co-owners, Chris Holliday and Laura Massenat at Elemental.

I’m not a coffee drinker, but I wanted to try something. I was recommended a macchiato. Yeah, I still don’t like coffee. However, after the interview I had a crepe, which I’ve never had before, and it was delicious. Their crepes are only available on Sundays.

Watch the video and then visit Elemental for yourself.

This conversation happened after St. Paty’s day

I had to share this conversation. Texted a friend to let everyone know that I made it home safely after St. Patrick’s Day. (I never drank anything, but they were worried about me being hit by a drunk.) This is what transpired:

Edition 1.1 of Uncovering Oklahoma’s Date Guide Released

Edition 1.1 of Uncovering Oklahoma’s Date Guide book has been released. What started out as a simple update to replace the quote for Nonna’s to be timeless (the original the quote talked about Valentine’s Day), ended up spiraling into something a little bigger. First, I figured I could update the upcoming theatre show performances. Then why now add another location? I already had a picture for Lyric Theatre, so I got in touch with them for a quote. (I want to update my picture for them though next time I’m there.) I also made some minor fixes and changes. The book is now in a higher resolution (great for the new iPad 3) and the PDF file is cleaner.

The PDF version is now available and the iBookstore should update with the new version soon.

On the subject of Uncovering Oklahoma, the site has been buzzing lately thanks in park to my St. Patrick’s Day 2012 Events article.
