Erica Little

Erica Little Profile

Erica Little has close to 9 years of experience in the science field ranging from microbial and mammalian work to analytical work including bioanalytical and analytical development. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma and is a scientist for a local biopharmaceutical company that specializes in producing therapeutic antibodies and proteins. Erica’s depth of scientific knowledge and versatility has afforded her various opportunities including building and supervising an analytical process characterization testing team to being the sole principle scientist on the testing of clinical trial samples in which the data helped the corporation sell their antibody to a major pharmaceutical company for $665 million.

Erica is an executive committee member of the Oklahoma Bioscience Association as well as being involved in other scientific organizations. In her spare time, she likes to play the violin, sing, and act. She was a part of a play at the Poteet Theatre and even appeared in a local car commercial.

As she progresses through her scientific career, Erica hopes to continue to share her knowledge and experiences along the way.

Under Her Wing

Under Her Wing was the Universe Site Tour Preview

Good morning, everyone!

As I’m writing this, I’m in Enid for the Oklahoma Arts Conference. While here, I’ve also filmed some future stories for Uncovering Oklahoma. Since it is Thursday, I’m sharing this video of artist romy owens giving a site tour of Under Her Wing was the Universe in Enid, Oklahoma for the conference on October 24, 2017. During the tour, romy discusses the story behind the project and gives a status update.

I also filmed two interviews on some neat places in Enid on Tuesday, so those will be coming out on future updates.

Dr. Katrina Menard

Dr. Katrina Menard Profile

In this Yes! Science! profile, Dr. Katrina Menard gives a talk about her work at the Sam Noble Museum in Norman, Oklahoma. She also gives a behind the scenes look of the museum’s collection of invertebrates, so this profile is more of presentation than an interview. We did film an interview, but it was decided that this video was better and not to use the other.

Dr. Katrina Menard is originally from northern Virginia and is currently the curator of recent invertebrates at the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History. She earned her master’s and Ph.D. in entomology from Texas A&M University and has worked in several museums, including the Smithsonian and the American Museum of Natural History. Her expertise is in true bugs (Heteroptera), and she has traveled around the world to study their diversity and relationships with plants, which many rely on for their life-cycle. She enjoys natural history in a broader sense, and sharing her love of insects with others.

Beck's Garage

Beck’s Garage

American Express partnered with me to share the story behind Beck’s Garage in Oklahoma City’s Western Avenue District, where the customer is always the priority and American Express is always welcomed. In my video with Mr. Beck, he talks about his road to success and the challenges he faces as a small business owner.

There was also a 30-second version made as well:

I’m excited to finally release my branded content video as I was approached back in August for the project. I’ve enjoyed seeing this morning what the other bloggers have done, which I’ve found searching YouTube via #AmexAmbassador. I hope this video leads to more similar gigs as this was a cool project.
