Edited: A Flower for Virus

My short story, A Flower for Virus, has been updated. In the story, Jet Ignis has taken his lover out for a romantic date when a flying carpeted vehicle crash lands in a sanctuary. The two run off to help, but get tangled up in a plot of revenge in this colorful, imaginative, sci-fi story. There are some nice improvements in this version over the draft that was posted thanks to some leveling up in my writing skills. There’s also a featured header image now.

This story is actually the first chapter from A Collection Before the Crash.

I’m excited to announcement the release of my party game book, The Movie Murder Mystery Party. The book is available as a paperback through CreateSpace and Amazon with the digital ebook versions to be released soon. I’m really happy about this release as it’s my first product that people can actually buy.

In this murder mystery game guests take the roles of various cast and crew members celebrating the completion of filming of their movie when the director suddenly dies at the party. However, the paranoid Director hid magical clues revealing hints as to who committed the crime. The scavenger hunt, couples’ rules, and the randomzation for the murderer bring unique features to the standard murder mystery game.

Also included is All the Inheritance, a murdering mystery game where anyone can be the killer as each heir hopes to kill the host – while avoiding being knocked off themselves – to collect the most money. Use luck, memory, backstabbing, and clever deductions to win all the inheritance you can and uncover who is really your friend.

But, wait! There’s more! Lastly there are rules for an indoor capture the flag style game with murder!

After not hearing anything on the contest for months, today at work I received a phone call informing me that I’ve won! The date and the logistics of when I’ll be going to Dallas, Texas to be in their commercial have yet to be worked out, but they will call me again when it’s all settled.

The biggest change with this edition is that the book expands further away from the Oklahoma City area and includes places like Tulsa, Medicine Park, and Pauls Valley. I hope you enjoy this new edition! I have amazing plans for the fourth edition to be released in January, including more places in Tulsa. I only managed to make one trip to Tulsa for this book. I have time scheduled to personally visit the First Friday Art Crawl in the Brady Arts District.

I’m just going to share this information on my personal blog: the fourth edition will be dramatically different as I will include a printed version. I’ve been doing researching into making this completely feasible. I already have a new page making program to produce it. I’ve decided to format the book in the standard 11×8 magazine size. I’m really exciting about 4.0.

Even though it was a short movie, we have the following blooper reel:

Tonight we held the watch party for the movie and it’s bloopers. Lessa and I were still doing some last minute editing when people started to arrive at six, forcing guests to make conversations with each other. We were only behind about an hour so everyone took turns talking about their day/week in a dramatic story-telling fashion while enjoying pizza. Yum. We also watched some of the raw footage that didn’t make the final cut and afterwards went out for gelato. More yum.
