Now Available on the iBookstore!

I’m excited to announce that my Uncovering Oklahoma’s Date Guide book is now available to download for free on the iBookstore for iPad.

Why so long? Well, I first created a paid books account, which took a week to get approved. When that was finally set up, I found out that even though the book was free, I still needed an ISBN code unless I had a free books account. I created a free account, published it and a few days later here it is. So, yeah, I have two iTunes Connect accounts, which will be useful because I will have both free and paid books.

For the next edition, I plan to include ideas in Edmond and Stillwater along with more outdoor activities. I’m looking at either an April or May release. I haven’t done anything for the second edition yet.

On a somewhat related note, we had Chinese for lunch at work today. My fortune cookie read: “Book lovers never go to bed alone.”

Succulent, Juicy, Sexy Improv Challenge #6

In the freezing cold Ben Davis, Kyle Gossett, Michael Roberts, Stephen Dillard-Carroll, and Jessi Kyle pick out characters from a hat to act out a scene. Using the cold weather as inspiration, the scene takes place in a chilly warehouse involving computer hacking for U.S. nuclear codes

Dennis’ Commentary: It was really, really, really cold when this scene was filmed outside of Beverly’s Pancake House after night of OKC Improv. I loved how everyone used the cold to their advantage in the scene. It was totally worth braving the cold weather for this challenge.

Date Guide PDF Released

The Uncovering Oklahoma Date Guide book is now available as a free PDF download so check it out!

I wrote the book with all types of couples and dates in mind to show that there is something for everyone. There are pictures of every place, quotes from people as to why they personally think a particular place makes for a great date spot, and even links to watch YouTube videos. In the first edition there are over 25 different ideas for dates with sections on Oklahoma City, Bricktown, and Norman.

Future editions will include even more ideas and will expand to other cities, including Tulsa. I’m barely scratching the surface of all the great places and things to for dates in Oklahoma. The book will soon be available to download via the iBookstore to view on your iPad. I’m still dealing with a few matters, signing contracts, and that sort of stuff.

Insanely Awesome Improv Challenge #5

Finding the perfect gift to get for a friend can be creepy especially when one’s looking for something from strange characters in an alley way. The improv students of Casady High’s improv troupe, Heck Yeah!, take on the insanely awesome challenge where for two minutes they run through some crazy characters selling crazy items. Watch what they try to sell and how the night goes deathly wrong.

Dennis’ Commentary: This video was filmed in between shows at OKC Improv. It started to rain when shooting this challenge, so Buck and Clint, thinking the troupe was practicing, interrupted the video at the end right as the timer was going out. Despite that, it worked out and the troupe managed to wrap it up nicely.

Upcoming: Uncovering Oklahoma’s Date Guide Book

While there’s been a lack of updates on the Uncovering Oklahoma web site, I certainly have been working for it. The result is the Uncovering Oklahoma Date Guide book. The book will be released later this week in the iBookstore for the iPad. I’ve been wanting to create a date idea book for some time now, but the practicality of printing a book has killed that notion until Apple released the iBooks Author application. I downloaded it the day it was released and started work on the book.

I’m really proud and happy with how the first edition turned out. There are over 25 different ideas for dates with sections on Oklahoma City, Bricktown, and Norman. There are photographs from every place and quotes from people as to why they think a place makes for a great date. The book was written for all types of couples and with all types of dates in mind. Future editions will include even more ideas and expand to other cities, including Tulsa. I’m barely scratching the surface, but I have to start somewhere.

As soon as it’s available, I will make an announcement of my first published book. Yay!

Another thing I’m proud about? My milage log for January. I’ve traveled for business more in that month than any other month I’ve traveled for business. The log includes stuff for the date guide book, the [Wild] Improv Challenge, and a mysterious new show that I have yet to announce here. Yay for being productive!

Yay!
