Site Updates Jan 23, 2013

Over at Uncovering Oklahoma, my page on The Center of the Universe in Tulsa was mentioned in a blog post, 10 Real Life Things That Would Be Easter Eggs in a Video Game. It’s a fun read. I noticed this because there was a massive spike in traffic and naturally I wanted to know where it came from. The day that article was published, I had the highest traffic to Uncovering Oklahoma period. With the traffic the page has been receiving, I updated it with more pictures and the passage on it from the date idea book.

Speaking of the Date Idea Book, the paperback is now available at BARNS & NOBLE and a digital DRM-free PDF option is at Lulu. At the time I wrote this, Barns & Noble put my book on sale for $9.57 so get it while you can for cheap! I’m looking into creating an eReader format version of the book, which would forgo any facing page layout for straight information.

I am scheduled for an interview on the radio show, No Fun Intended, on February 10. I’m really excited about it! Hopefully I’ll be scheduled for more interviews. I really want this book to do well.

Now for an update on my Sonic the Hedgehog fan site that I own, SoaH City. It might not be dead just yet. I’m not going to say anything more!

The Time Traveling Troupe? Stories are slowly in the works for it. I’m working on scripts and another book at the same time.

I’ve lowered the price The Movie Murder Mystery Party game book down to $8.99 for the paperback book. (Depending on when you read this, some stores may still have the $9.99 price.)

Well, I believe that’s everything for now.

Uncovering Oklahoma’s 2013 Date Idea Book now available

I am happy to announce that Uncovering Oklahoma’s 2013 Date Idea Book is now available! This edition has undergone some major changes as the book has leaped from digital to print. The 48 page book features suggestions for over 100 date ideas throughout the state of Oklahoma.

Some of the changes include:
– New vertical page layout for print
– Guthrie date ideas
– Moore date ideas
– Route 66 date ideas
– Medicine Park & Wichita Mountains
– Plus more ideas for Oklahoma City, Bricktown, Tulsa, Norman, and Elsewhere

The book went a slight name change from date “guide” to date “idea” because during my travels when telling people about the book, they thought it was a guide book on how to date, which is not the case. Although, it will make you more attractive and fun with the knowledge of such great date ideas.

The 2013 Date Idea Book is available to buy through online retailers such as Amazon and will be in local shops soon. Whether you need creative first date ideas or date night ideas for married couples, buy a copy of the 2013 edition for love and adventure all year round. It’s the perfect Valentine’s Day Gift and it’s great for birthdays and anniversaries too!

Some facts about the book: If it wasn’t for Leslie, I don’t think the book would be as awesome so a huge thanks to her! It took me an extra week just to get the formatting right so it could be printed. Another thanks to Jaclyn Cosgrove who wrote some articles for it on some places I’ve never heard of before.

In 2012, I traveled over 2,221 miles for business. Most of those were for Uncovering Oklahoma and the date book. Another chuck was for the [Wild] Improv Challenge. For 2013, I may end up traveling even more for the show to reach the far corners of the state. The next edition of the date idea book won’t be out for a long time – either December or January 2014 – as in order to add more content, I’ll have to travel to more places outside of the Oklahoma City metro.

Ego’s Street Magic Show

I’ve dug Ego’s Street Magic Show out from my archives.

Ego’s Street Magic Show was an on going interactive sprite comic series that was started in the SoaH City forums. Follow SoaH City’s Mayor who puts on a street magic where anything could go wrong or awesome. Not even the creator of the series knows what’s going to happen because people keep adding to the story! People have raved such comments as, “for the win,” “I actually lol’d,” and “this topic was great, we need more of these.” But why listen to what they’ve said when you can read it for yourself!

Although it’s a sprite comic, it’s in with the short stories.

Now Available: Lessa’s Unbound Dilemmas at the Library

Lessa's Unbound Dilemmas at the Library
In my interactive urban fantasy adventure book, follow librarian, Lessa, in a typical night of closing the library. As usual, the characters have come unbound from their books to roam the library at night. But this time one of the characters wants to be free of the library and will do anything to guarantee his freedom. Enjoy multiple story paths with four different endings!

Get the eBook now for $0.99 for Amazon’s Kindle and Barns & Noble’s Nook and over time the story will be updated with new adventures! The book will soon be available for the iBookstore.

The book is only available in digital right now as I can update it with new sections over time. This book was written as a Christmas gift for a friend and I had a few copies of it printed for the occasion.

I hope you enjoy this book!

It’s Tastier on the Inside

On the 22nd I decorated a gingerbread TARDIS that my most fantastic S.O. baked just for me. I haven’t actually eaten it yet, but some things are just too pretty to eat. Although, I did eat some of the candies while decorating it and S.O. finished off the gumdrops yesterday.

“Frosting Bow Ties are Cool”
“Cookie Companions”

If you want to make your own Gingerbread TARDIS, here are some helpful tips:

– If baking your own TARDIS, make sure the dough is well chilled (overnight is best) before you cut out the pieces.
– We used a picture of the TARDIS that we cut out and laid on top of the rolled-out cookie dough as a template. We then used a knife to cut out four of these sides.
– Bake according to the recipe! (Don’t exterminate it.)
– Use two people when frosting the TARDIS sides together. We used Betty Crocker Decorating Cookie Icing (Cream Cheese) because it hardens fast.
For the Doctor and companions, we used Ninja Cookie Cutters.
– We found a recipe for the angels, but the site I linked to is no longer around, so check out this place instead.

Have yourself a tasty Christmas!
